Connecting to our purpose may seem like a daunting task when we are confused and unclear as to what our purpose is. To connect with our highest purpose is to connect with our highest self in the moment. Our purpose in life may change depending on what our soul needs but we may never hear what it is if we’re not able to listen and develop compassion for ourselves. This is indeed a skill to be learned and practiced through inner reflection and silence, through quieting the mind. You can find your purpose through what makes you happy or what makes you angry. You can find it through passions you may have about a cause, an injustice or an experience. Your purpose may be in a role you fulfill at home or in the community. Sometimes the happiest people find that their purpose may not be in living in service everyday, being a good parent, sibling, or spouse or leading a successful career. They find their purpose wherever they are. They find it in everyday living and living honestly and awake in the moment. Connecting to our purpose requires us to trust ourselves and hold in our hearts an invitation of personal power while standing exactly where we are in the moment. This power is always available to us, to guide us and present us with meaningful paths we can take to unfold our greatest potential. It is always available waiting for us to notice it, to acknowledge it and to embrace it.
